Gavin Laidlaw BDS Manchester 1987

Gavin is the Principal Dentist and owner of Gavin Laidlaw Dental Solutions. Gavin has owned the Practice in Lymm for seven years now, and oversaw its recent expansion. Before this he owned another thriving practice in Warrington.

‘It’s great to have a business located in the heart of the fantastic Lymm community where I live and my children go to school.’

Gavin is a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Dentists and is passionate about creating great smiles. ‘Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than a happy smiling patient leaving my surgery. Our work can genuinely change peoples lives, and that gives me a great buzz.’

When not seeing patients and running the practice, Gavin loves to completely relax with a spot of fishing. He is also a keen sportsman and coaches the Lymm Rovers junior football team.

Sophie Parker BDS Newcastle 2004

Sophie joined the dentistry team at the Practice last year. Sophie really enjoys having the time to get to know the patients in a relaxed and friendly environment. Sophie also is fully qualified and insured to carry out all facial rejuvenation treatments in addition to general and cosmetic dentistry.

When not at the dentist’s chair she can usually be found in the seat of a fast car or watching Formula One.

Dr Richard Brookshaw BDS, M. Med. Sci

Richard graduated in 1996, then accepted an oral surgery position at Leicester Royal Infirmary. This was followed by 2 years as a Senior House Officer in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at Sheffield University where he was involved in oral surgery and implant dentistry.

Richard completed his Masters degree in Oral Surgery in 1999 at Sheffield University and at Chieti University in Italy.

Richard is both nationally and internationally respected as a lecturer and mentor in Implant Dentistry and CT scan guided surgery. Richard is also an honorary teaching fellow for the Manchester University MSc in dental implantology.
In the last three years, Richard has successfully placed over 1500 implants. Richard enjoys golf, cricket and cycling. He is also a keen football supporter.

Beatrice Luciola BDS Manchester 1999, MSc Manchester 2003, MOrth Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh 2003

Beatrice is the resident Orthodontist at the Practice who joined the team in 2007. Beatrice has a vast range of experience, working at Manchester University and S. Manchester University teaching and Stepping Hill and Wythenshawe Hospitals for over four years. Beatrice then entered a large NHS and Private Specialist Orthodontic practice for over three years. Beatrice now focuses entirely on her private clients and loves working here at Dental Solutions as our patients can be treated in their usual surroundings and don’t have to travel miles to see her.

Holiday destination: Ile des Deux Cocos in Mauritius on her honeymoon - so romantic.

Richard Tones

Richard Tones BDS Newcastle 2005 Richard has worked in a variety of NHS and Private dental practices in Newcastle and Cheshire since qualifying to gain a wide range of experience in dentistry in a relatively short time. He continues to pursue post graduate training in dentistry to offer the highest possible professional standards to his patients. In his leisure time Richard is a keen skier and an avid motor sports fan.

Lisa Meredith BSc Oral Health Sciences 2007

Lisa is the dental therapist at our practice. A dental therapist practices half way between a dentist and a dental nurse. Lisa is fully qualified to provide dentistry care and simple fillings, and gets a great buzz from caring for our younger patients. Lisa loves to get out and about when the sun is shining and makes sure all our social events go with a swing.

Victoria Middleton DDH Manchester 1996

Victoria has worked in the practice for over 7 years now and loves working in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the Practice. Before becoming a hygienist in 1989 Victoria was a nurse and a dental health educator.

Nicola Corless

Nicky is our Practice Manager, a position she has held for over a year now and has worked with Gavin since 2001. Nicky has been a qualified dental nurse for over 18 years and has vast experience in the field of dental nursing. She is currently studying to qualify in Dental Practice Management. Nicky has been at the forefront of obtaining BDA Good Practice Accreditation for the Practice by ensuring we continue to provide the best care and high quality service to all our patients.

Heather Hutchinson

Heather is a qualified dental nurse and is the key coordinator for our Orthodontic and Dental Implant work with Beatrice Luciola and Richard ........ Heather previously worked at the Dental Academy in Warrington and loves the people she meets and works with here at the Practice. Heather loves the variety of the treatments offered at the Practice as it gives her ‘loads of job satisfaction, and lots of opportunities to learn more!’

Karen Cook

Karen has worked as a nurse in the dental profession for over 20 years and with Gavin since he first opened his Lymm practice seven years ago.

Karen loves the variety of the job and still relishes the opportunity to train and learn new techniques, ‘Dentistry continues to change at a fast pace and still gives me enormous job satisfaction.’

Karen likes to keep fit, watch the football and spend time with her children.

Kerry Hardy

Kerry is a dental nurse at the Practice who qualified as a nurse here at the Practice in May 2007. Now Mum to Ed who was born in January 2008, as well as Oliver who is now 6, Kerry previously worked for Cheshire Police and Orange Business in Customer Relations, before joining the Practice.

Kerry enjoys working at the Practice and gets a real buzz out of giving patients confidence from their new smiles. Kerry loves the sun, hates the rain and her best ever holiday was spent in Devon back in 2002 with her entire family- the sun must have shone that year!

Danielle Cornelia

Danielle is currently completing her qualifications to be a dental nurse here at the Practice. Before that she was a travel agent. She loves working here at the Practice for the reason that no two days are the same, the fun team and the chance to progress through the Practice.

Barbara Lowe

Barbara has worked for Gavin since he moved to Lymm and before that worked as the chief receptionist to Angus McLeod, one of the dentists still working at the Practice. As part of the reception team, Barbara loves meeting our patients old and new and getting to know them better. Barbara has recently become a Grandmother for the second time, and when not doting on her grandchildren, she is to be found on the golf course or enjoying her holidays around the globe.

Janet Nowell

Janet has worked as part of our reception team for nearly two years now and relishes the opportunity to meet new people and welcome our new patients to the Practice. Janet has two boys who both attend school in the village and when not behind our reception desk loves to keep super fit by walking the roads, paths and trails of Lymm- don’t even try to keep up with her!

Linda Parker

Linda Parker is a qualified holistic therapist and Emotional Freedom practitioner. Linda first qualified as a reflexologist in 1997 and since then has gradually increased her qualifications in more areas to ensure that she can offer bespoke treatments to a patients individual requirements.

Based at the White Rooms next door to our practice, Linda specialises in relaxing our patients with reflexology during lengthy treatments such as tooth whitening.
Linda can also help nervous patients with the use of Emotional Freedom technique.

Favourite Food: Italian

Favourite Holiday: A Nile cruise- so beautiful and interesting- plus the chance to buy essential oils at their source.

Gill Laidlaw

Gill is the financial director and company Secretary of Dental Solutions and plays a vital role behind the scenes to ensure the Practice runs as smoothly as it does. Formerly an Early Years teacher, her hobbies outside of work include rowing and tap dancing. She also loves to shop, as Gavin will happily testify.

Favourite Food: Tomato Mozzarella and pesto salad

Favourite holiday: New Zealand (fortunately the same destination as Gavin’s!)
